Summer is about temperature
Rooms hit 30 °C here. A fan across the surface, a lid left ajar and an extra airstone keep oxygen up when the heater is off for months.
Always treat the water
Chlorine in tap water wipes out filter bacteria. Dechlorinator on every water change, even the small ones.
Go slow at the start
A new tank needs a few weeks to mature. Add fish a handful at a time, feed lightly, and test the water instead of guessing.
